What a tragedy! Famous Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assassins in Jawaharke village of Mansa district on Sunday, May 29. It was a piece of shocking news for everyone who knew Sidhu and especially for the Punjab music industry.
According to the latest reports, two other people were also injured in the firing. It all just happened a day after when the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government withdrew the security of 424 people, including Moosewala.
The brutal attack took place when Moose Wala and his two friends were heading to the village Mansa in Punjab.

For those who don’t about anything Sidhu Moose Wala, then here’s a background history regarding the famous singer. Sidhu was born on June 17, 1993, his real name was Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu but to the world as a musician known as Sidhu Moose Wala.
Moose had a fan following of millions and was popular for his rap. Being in the rap industry and not falling into any controversy won’t be a good sign. So, Moose led the tradition and he’s one of the most controversial Punjabi singers.
He was openly promoting gun culture, glorifying gangsters in provocative songs. One of his songs, ‘Jatti Jeonay Morh Di Bandook Wargi’, was released in September 2019. He was also accused of showing Sikh warriors in a poor light. But later he apologized for it.
This year, Sidhu Moose Wala had contested the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections from Mansa on a Congress ticket. Although he was defeated by AAP candidate Vijay Singla by a huge margin of 63,000 votes. But recently Vijay has been sacked by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann over charges of corruption.
Condolences:
the Punjabi singer’s death, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted, “Deeply shocked at the broad daylight murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. Punjab and Punjabis across the world have lost a talented artist with mass connections, who could feel people’s pulse. My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones and fans across the world.”
Roshan Lal Bittu wrote, “@ArvindKejriwal & @BhagwantMann Govt just killed Congress leader famous Punjabi Singer Sidhu moose wall. Was removing Moosewala’s security part of the same plan?”
After the incident, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa demanded an FIR against Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann over “negligence of chief ministerial duties”.
“We have been warning Punjab Government to pay attention to Punjab’s situation. I demand an FIR against Bhagwant Mann for the negligence of his Chief Ministerial duties which has cost the life of Sidhu Moosewala. Bhagwant Mann along with Arvind Kejriwal should be booked,” Manjinder Singh Sirsa said.
No matter how famous you are, death comes in without any warning. In 2014, South African Goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead while protecting his girlfriend.
