MG – Simple – Hard Work, Enthusiasm, And Respect
MG stands for Morris Garages. Tracking its history back to 1924, MG Motors is the iconic British motoring brand, renowned for building sporty, exciting, and value-for-money cars that are always fun to drive. From the original MG 14/28 Super Sportscar, produced by the legendary Cecil Kimber, to the all-electric MG5 EV of today, MG has forever been innovative, radical, and always fun!
Now, MG is the fastest growing car brand in the UK, fielding a six-car range of functional and affordable hatchbacks, SWs, and SUVs. Designed in Marylebone, London, and manufactured in state-of-the-art factories in numerous countries, today’s MGs are practical, spacious, stuffed with technology, and perfect for modern life. With a nationwide network of 113 dealerships, MG is available to customers everywhere with professional sales and aftersales procurement across the world.
The Company Logo
The MG logo has a classical original-like other car logos. The popular MG initials were chosen by Cecil Kimber, the founding member of MG, as a “nod” to William Morris, his boss, and the owner of Morris Garages.
History
William Morris began building bicycles in Longwall Street, Birmingham. By 1911 Morris had shifted his attention to motor cars and was retailing and repairing various makes from the rebuilt bases, now renamed Morris Garages.
By 1924 a variety of rebodied Morris and MG badged models were being marketed as ‘Kimber Specials,’ and an overflowing order book resulted in MG assembly. In 1930, the time MG went racing, the MG Car Company Ltd was organized. Although William Morris privately owned the company, he ultimately sold his holdings in MG to Morris Motors in 1935, the Morris Organisation head company.
A 1600 OHV powered MGA appeared on the scene in 1959, and the revised Mk2 was unveiled soon before introducing the all-new 1.8-litre MGB in 1962, along with an MG version of the top-selling A-Series powered front-wheel drive ADO16 saloon.
In 1962, MGB – World’s most affordable sports car was manufactured. The point that over 5,00,000 MGBs were made just goes on to illustrate how popular it was. When Prince Charles went to University, he purchased the B’s bigger brother, the MGC.
By the 1970s, MG was restrained to a particular model, the rubber bumper clad MGB, and in 1980 BL stopped the ‘B production and later settled of the Abingdon factory.
Later by the mid-1990s, the expansion of 1995 introduced the MGF, powered by 1.8-liter K-Series, and the new mid-engine sports car became a huge success, for now, a German-owned brand.
In 2004 MG brought forth the 320bhp SV, a two-door coupe that had begun as the Italian-designed De Tomaso Bigua, which later transformed into the Qvale Magusta before converting the British assembled and MG Sports & Racing developed MG SV.
In 2007 Nanjing Automotive mixed with the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation, one of the broke MG Rover’s earlier suiters, to form SAIC Motor, and a new part in MG’s long and eventful history was about to get undertaken.
MG Motors has been steadily rolling out the big guns ever since.

MG Motors in Pakistan
A few photos of the new-entrant MG automotive company’s HS model received in a Facebook group sparked thoughts of an early announcement in Pakistan.
It’s appropriate to consider that an invitation banner for the test drive was also publicly shared on Facebook. “The future is calling! Have you heard of the legendary British icon that is revving to take you to the future?” the banner read.
Pakistani buyers have already set their calendar dates on the alleged future official launch of Morris Garages (MG) Motor UK Limited. Not only that, but stories are also afoot that the British auto giant might make the much-hyped approach with the launch of its two top-rated SUVs: HS and ZS-EV.
The businessman, Javed Afridi, stated that MG Motors, namely MG HS and MG ZS EV, were to be launched in Pakistan in 2020.
