The vicious war between Azerbaijan and Armenia finally ended up in a truce. Primarily, the fight was over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. Consequently, Pakistanis reacted to the news on several social media platforms and supported their Azerbaijan brethren.
Azerbaijan and Armenia indulged in the bloody war over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. In the fight, Pakistan supported Azerbaijan.
Earlier, the foreign office of Pakistan stated against the Armenian brutality. The statement reads, “Pakistan is deeply concerned on the deteriorating security situation in Nagorno-Karabakh region. The intensive shelling by Armenian forces over the weekend on civilian populations of Azerbaijani villages of Terter, Aghdam, Fizuli and Jabrayil region is reprehensible and most unfortunate. This could compromise peace and security of the entire region. Armenia must stop its military action to avoid further escalation.”
Besides, the statement added, “Pakistan stands with the brotherly nation of Azerbaijan and supports its right of self-defence. We support Azerbaijan’s position on Nagorno-Karabakh, which is in line with the several unanimously adopted UNSecurity Council resolutions.”
The ceasefire
Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev said on Twitter said, “I am also happy to deliver this pleasant news to my people.”
Following the ceasefire, Pakistanis across the world celebrated with the people of Azerbaijan and reacted happily towards the ceasefire.
