Social Media Demands Immediate Ban On A Facebook Page Encouraging Pedophiles

Ban the harami Society

Pakistan is listed among those countries with the largest numbers of child pornography viewers. It is such an embarrassment for us to be involved in such ugly acts. There’s a social media uproar on a Facebook Page that allegedly promotes child pornography.

Pakistani actress Armeena Khan has also raised the issue on Twitter. She has mentioned that a Facebook page with over 40,000 viewers is exchanging child pornography and other indecent content.

However, people are now reporting the group. They are also writing to the Cyber Crime branch to stop such content on the internet. Many Pakistanis are also mentioning other Facebook groups who share similar content.

Child pornography in Pakistan

A few days back, the news of the suspension of sentence and bail granted to a man Saadat Amin convicted in child pornography case by has triggered a wave of public anger in Pakistan. FIA recovered some 65,000 child pornography video clips from his possession. According to the details, Amin was part of a total six-member racket of pornographers across the world.

Also, It has brought back painful memories of the rape and murder of eight-year-old Zainab in 2018 and many other such cases in Pakistan.

Moreover, this is sick to the core that Pakistanis take part in such activities. Child pornography is an international crime. The age of consent in many countries is eighteen and anyone younger is a minor. Child abuse is a serious problem and should be addressed.

However, we urge that the Pakistani government acknowledges this issue and adheres to eradicate this thorn in our national pride in being an ‘Islamic Republic’. Unfortunately, the justice system of this country is dead and the victims keep struggling for life. The recent case of an 18-year-old boy who was brutally raped and strangled to death is a live example of the injustice happening.
