There is nothing more annoying and frustrating than exam time. And what’s even more annoying is that everything around us and inside of us makes sure that we do not spend the time we have on studies. We often find ourselves in situations that distract us from our books and make the studies full of struggles!
These are 9 of the many struggles a student goes through during studies!
1. Those Damned Whatsapp Group Messages
You know you’ve screwed up when the Whatsapp study group you’ve joined to ensure you’re at your maximal efficiency is the one thing that’s keeping you from actually being productive!
2. Ammi asking if you want to eat lunch/dinner
I’m sure all of us are aware of that feeling when we finally get into the study mode and are rolling with the momentum. Actually engrossed in the studies, forgetting for a moment that anything else exists. The suddenly, your mom knocks on the door and asks you to eat because she is concerned that you’re hungry and thinks that you can’t study unless you eat!
Yeah. It sucks!
3. Controlling your sleep after eating the food
After saying no to your mom for food 5000 times, you finally give in. You’re thinking of getting back to the books as soon as you’re done eating. But right after you swallow the last bite of the food, there’s a sudden shift in your mood. You feel lightheaded and just want to lie on your bed and sleep.
What have you done, mother!
4. Khayali Pulao after reading 3 pages
You’ve just finished reading three pages without getting distracted. You feel so proud of yourself. You flip the pages and try to calculate how many more pages you can finish reading today if you go by the same pace. Once you’ve done calculating that, you estimate the amount of parhayee that you can accomplish this entire week and how you’ll finish your whole semester’s worth of course in just two months next semester and ace every subject and top the class.
You also plan what you’ll do with all the money once you get a job post-graduation and how many children should your multi-ethnic superhuman husband/wife will give you.
5. Day Dreaming about how to spend the post-exam vacations
Exams feel the worst! No matter how many exams you have taken throughout your entire life, you can never get used to it. And you obviously want it to be over as quickly as possible. You just cannot wait to be done with them so you can spend whatever time you get, to do all the things you wished to do!
6. Deciding between sleeping early or sleeping late
As soon as you snap back from your day dreaming, you realize the entire day has passed and if you want to finish studying you need to sit till 3am. But you just decide to go to sleep because you prefer waking up early the next morning and studying to keep your schedule in check.
But you secretly know that this is a sad excuse and you’re just a failure in life who will most probably end up wasting the day all over again!
7. Calling Friends to ask if they are in a similarly miserable situation
When you are feeling hopeless, nothing can help you. Nothing! Except calling friends and knowing that they’re just as screwed for the exam as you are! Suddenly, the conversation shifts from feeling mutually sad about the unpreparedness to feeling happy about the mutual ineptitude.
8. Promising to be more regular from next semester/year
Promises are made to be broken, right?
9. Reading random blogs on random websites
