21st century and still no one talks any sense into the guys of the generation. It is no longer a boy vs. girl war – let’s be clear on this first. Both the gender need to mutually understand the things that are unacceptable now.
But please guys; don’t let the chivalry die and we all need to move past this “Boys Will Be Boys” phrase as well.
Women however, clearly get very uncomfortable when men do a number of things. We live in a very patriarchal world, and sometimes we do not realize when we become a part of it. However, things like the following need to change:
1. Stop Neglecting her Emotions by Considering them Fake
We have come to believe that men tend to think that if we cry, it is only because we want to get things done our way.
2. Stop Showing Passive Aggression
If you have something to say or if you want us to understand something, you have to think of something beyond this. We don’t understand your pointless anger when you favorite football loses the match. IT IS NOT OUR FAULT.
3. She’s Not A Child – Stop Scolding and Yelling At Her
Excuse me! She is a complete adult now and she pretty much knows what is right and wrong for her. You just cannot strong-arm her and make her bow to your will. The best that you can do is making her understand by convincing her.
4. You Need to Ask Her before You Take The Upper Hand in Making Decisions For Her
Please, even if we need your help in anything, that is only till suggesting us what to do. You certainly are not allowed to make decisions that would directly affect us in any way. It is our lives, and we know what to do with it.
5. Taking Girls For-Granted
When do we not get to see that? You expect us to look after your needs, make you food three times a day, and then hear your criticism at the end. We ain’t your mama. We deserve better than this.
6. Neglecting Her Anger because “She’s Only a Girl.”
So? We’re as humans as you guys. So, if we’re angry over something, you shouldn’t ignore it. Our emotions should not be taken lightly. In fact, nobody should deserve such treatment.
7. Criticizing Her Looks
What are you, some top-notch fashion critic macho man who knows what to wear, when to wear? If you cannot be positive while commenting about us, do not comment at all.
8. Quit Those Double Standards Already
Now we definitely do not want to start another gender based war here but, you know what we mean. So better control that as well.
