Pakistan is celebrating Defence Day today. 6 September marks 58 years of Pakistan’s war against India. Moreover, this day commemorates the lives that were lost in the war.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbez Sharif reinforced their government and the state’s commitment against terrorism. Furthermore, they emphasised their commitment to defending national and territorial integrity.
Meanwhile, Karachi and Lahore saw a change of guards. Furthermore, martyred bravery and selflessness were celebrated.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s chief Asif Ali Zardari issued Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in the region. Furthermore, he ratified Pakistan; ‘s commitment towards the Kashmir cause. President Zardari stated, “However, enduring peace is only possible when suffering of the Kashmiri people is ended,”
In his statement, he mentioned the valor and responsiveness of the Pakistani army, adding to his statement he said, “Our armed forces are alert and always ready to respond to any challenge to national sovereignty and national integrity,”
On an International front, China’s President had the following to say, “I join the entire nation in honoring the sacrifices of our soldiers and martyrs, as well as all those who have fought valiantly for Pakistan’s defence”.
