15 Ways You Might Be Earning Sawab Without Even Knowing

In our busy schedules, we hardly get time for 5 times prayers. The day seems to go by so quickly, and we realize that we have not remembered Allah throughout the day when late night we go off to the bed. The lack of remembrance of Allah can be easily blamed on mismanagement and shortage of time. But if we adopt few easy steps for zikr or remembrance of Allah, we may not truly understand the weights of these short words or phrases on our hearts and souls, the rewards are well beyond the limits. Here are some easy steps with which we can easily earn Sawab more and more.

1. Read. Learn. Think

Recitation of Quran daily if not possible, read an ayat with translation then learn and try to think about it. As in hadith,

O, Abu Zar! It is better for you to learn a single verse of Holy Quran in the morning rather pray hundreds of Rakaat (Nafal Prayer)

2. Pay Charity Secretly

For gaining sawab, don’t forget to pay charity but secretly, publicizing the good deeds might not be rewarded.

Righteous deeds protect a person from an evil end; a charity spent in secret extinguishes Allah’s wrath, and maintaining good ties of kinship increases one’s lifespan.

3. Bismillah Before Starting Any Work

It’s the easiest way to increase sawab.

Mention Allah’s Name (i.e., say Bismillah before starting eating), eat with your right hand and eat from what is near you.

Every one of us seeks forgiveness from Allah for ourselves, however, from this hadith Prophet (PBUH) gives the message of selflessness of Islam and commands the followers to seek forgiveness for other people as well.

Whoever seeks forgiveness for believing men and believing women, Allah will write for him a good deed for each believing man and woman.(Tabarani)

5. Recite Surah e Ikhlas Before Sleeping

6. Perform Complete And Proper Ablution

Ablution – wuzu, is obligatory for every ibadat, but with a little care we can increase the sawab.

Whosoever performs a complete and proper ablution, sins will leave his body – even from under his nails.

Don’t forget to say thanks to Allah after eating or drinking

Allah is pleased with the servant who thanks, Him after eating or drinking (When Allah is pleased with a servant He forgives his sins).

I  saw a man enjoying himself in Paradise (simply) because he removed from a road a tree that used to harm people.

We usually don’t shake hands when we say “Salam” to each other. Be sure to never forget to shake hands again.

Never do two Muslims shake hands except that their sins are forgiven before they depart.

10. Recitation Of  ‘Subhanallahi wa bihamdih’

Spend your free time in recitation of this zikr, it would surely expiate your sins

Whosoever says: ‘Subhanallahi wa bihamdih’  one hundred times a day, Allah will forgive his sins even if they were as great as the foam of the sea.

11. Feeding The Poor

Usually, we throw the leftover food when it becomes stale in the refrigerator but if we give the leftover food to the needy and poor it will be counted as sawab

Anyone who looks after and works for a widow and a poor person is like a warrior fighting for Allah’s cause, or like a person who fasts during the day and prays all night.

A man saw a dog panting and eating mud out of thirst; so the man used his shoe to give the dog some water from a well. Allah appreciated this action and admitted him into Paradise.

Every righteous child who casts a look of mercy and affection upon his parents shall be granted, for every look of his, rewards equivalent to that of an accepted Hajj.”  Those around the Prophet questioned: “O’ Prophet of Allah!  Even if he were to look at them a hundred times a day?”  The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) replied: “Indeed!  Allah is the Greatest and Most Kind.

I am not saying to start poking your nose in other peoples’ business, but yes guiding them towards good and forbidding them from doing evil is also counted as a good deed which will be rewarded with sawab
