How Junaid Jamshed Was An Important Part of Our Childhood

Renowned preacher Junaid Jamshed lost his life during yesterday’s plane crash of PIA PK-661 that was bound to Islamabad from Chitral. As it happened, the ATR42 plane carrying 47 people including flight crew crashed and claimed all lives present on board.

In the aftermath of this national disaster, our spirits and emotions took a nose-dive, while shock and plaintive feelings prevail.

Late Junaid Jamshed had a personal affection with his fans and followers who come not only from Pakistan but around the world. Our affection and fondness of him take us back to days before he unveiled himself as a preacher of Islam.

As kids, we felt utter excitement when certain songs were played during events and functions held in our schools. We profoundly enjoyed every track and sang along in awe. Celebrating the occasion revitalized our feelings and gave us more reasons to enjoy ourselves.

Some of us who have been avidly following him since the 90s can relate to this. As a national starlet, he influenced our young people and they seemed to passionately follow the fashion trends introduced by him. Adopting the hairstyle, rolling our shirt sleeves up and posing with a guitar, we were struck by this particular trend he led. Even after he embraced a significant change in his life and adopted a new style, we never seemed to let go his fashion. His own brand named after him speaks of his priority in dressing and is a leading clothing brand in Pakistan.

5. We aspired to form our own boy bands

All credit goes to the culmination of Vital Signs. Junaid Jamshed was a popular figure to lead this particular influence. Having inspiration from Vital Signs, we pursued to form our very own band. In our group, we always had someone who could sing well and also someone who was keen about guitars. The notion and love spread among ourselves and we found ways to make things happen.

Junaid Jamshed will remain a radiant symbol in our hearts. He was a benefactor and a beacon of hope for many. He developed a vibrant sense of duty and continued to outshine by his work in all areas he explored. His legacy will be continued and his name shall glimmer in supremacy.
